Post Natal Services
Postnatal doulas provide flexible practical and emotional support postnatally for new parents and families in their own homes.
Sometimes postnatal doulas are booked antenatally.
If a family find they are struggling or feel the need for more emotional and practical support they sometimes seek to book a Doula after the baby has been born
The length of time a postnatal doula spends with a family varies from the first few weeks to months.
Free Initial Doula consultation will be over the phone on via video call to discuss EDD, and my availability.
A meeting will then be arranged with you and if possible your partner
Phone & Email Support
Continuous support via email and text messages during the contracted period
During these visits we will get to know one another. This is also where you get to ask any questions you may have
during this time we will also complete antenatal sessions covering your individual need and birth options
How you choose to feed your baby is your decision.
I have training in both bottle and breastfeeding techniques and can assist you with your baby's feeding
As a Doula, I Do Not:
Perform any clinical tasks
I am not a medical practitioner and will not be performing any clinical tasks. I will be here for support and to walk alongside you on this journey
Post natal visit
When supporting clients I provide emotional, practical and informational support for families whether they are having their first child or their 7th.
Each family dynamic is different and the needs will vary, I can provide support with whatever is needed to help a family have a positive experience, learn to balance life with a new baby in the family.
I am there to support the family, to do what is needed (within reason!).
I am a trained breastfeeding helper and have experience in helping parents with infant feeding, I can help the parents to prepare and cook nutritional meals for the family, helping with dinner time, watching baby while parents nap, helping with older siblings and doing school runs and more.
As a Postnatal doula I typically start working with a family in the first few days after birth but have worked with families with older babies too.
Make decisions for you
This is your journey and i can give you information but the ultimate decisions are all yours to make
Speak to the staff on your behalf
There are a few exceptions to this rule and will be discussed during prenatal appointments
Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience
I am passionate about helping families find their space and come into their own as they embrace their birthing and parenting jourmey
